PresentPerfectCoach Blog
I developed the PresentPerfectCoach as a way to demonstrate applications for coaching, and to examine everyday situations for the learning possibilities they present.
The name comes from the definition of the Present Perfect verb tense. As a journalist, I believe in precise writing and good grammar supports that practice. As a coach, I am intrigued at how well the definition models the issues presented by my clients.
As defined by www.englishpage.com, the Present Perfect tense expresses an action that began in the past and which has been completed or continues into the present.
Or to put it in another frame: the Present Perfect tense expresses the way that past experiences leave their imprint and how that imprint continues to affect us as we move forward.
We also use the Present Perfect to talk about several different actions which have occurred in the past at different times. Present Perfect suggests the process is not complete and more actions are possible.
As a coach, I believe in the value of embracing what is perfect about the present moment, and using that platform to launch all possibilities of the future.
I invite you to visit my blog and explore the concept of the Present Perfect.
